The Simple Joys
I am not a “preachy” person per say, but I have very strong feelings about my faith, and one day I was thinking about the way I feel about life, and it inspired me to write this poem. I hope you enjoy it!
The Simple Joys
Where are you, Oh God, I ask
Are you here, or there, or where
I am always here, my child, He says lovingly
Cast on me all of your cares
You wander around from day to day
With so much to do
No wonder, you’ve lost your way
Remember the simple things
You don’t need diamond rings
All you need is the warm sunshine
To make you feel just fine
A kindly word from a friend
A loving smile to warm your heart
A listening ear to lend
From these do not part
Fill your days with simple joys
Forget all the expensive toys
Look for the lasting treasure
The treasure of simple living
There you will find joy without measure
