Kidnap the Groundhog!

While new President Obama is working on the economic plan, I have been devising a little plan of my own. I have been trying to figure out how to kidnap that groundhog that comes out every February the second and ruins our chances of an early spring! If I can just figure out a way to keep him safely indoors all day and he doesn’t see his shadow, then surely an early spring will be ours. Of course I wouldn’t hurt him in any way, and he would be well fed and taken care of during his unfortunate incarceration.

I am however having a few problems since I have never attempted to kidnap a groundhog before. But desperate times call for drastic measures. And this cold winter gives a person a real incentive to be proactive.

I don’t have any groundhog traps handy. And just where exactly would you go about purchasing a ground hog trap? And what do those little critters like to eat anyway? And would they prefer to be alone or to have some company during their incarceration?

Well, maybe the cold really has gotten to me, and I’ll feel better come spring. So until then, put another log on the fire, cozy up with a good book (hint,hint,-Lemon Days and Strawberry Nights) and keep the hot chocolate coming!

Baby, It Is Cold Outside!

As I write this, we have a  seven degree temperature and not a lot of hope for it getting much warmer today. But then it is January and the dead of winter. So what can we expect?

It is just this time of year when we long for the long summer breezes of July. Patience is a virtue! If we just hang in there, spring is on its way.

I hope you are safe and warm and staying dry.

Here is to thoughts of spring! Hurry spring!

New Year Resolutions

I usually try not to make “New Year Resolutions”. They can be especially hard to keep, and if you fail, you feel much worse than not having made any resolutions at all. That said, I think we should all try to strive to be a better human being. We should always strive to be a better person, and to be the very best that we can possibly be.

Our lives are a learning process, and every day is a new opportunity to better ourselves, and to try to be the very best that we can be. That doesn’t mean we should torture ourselves trying to be something that we can never be. Learn who you are, and work on that. Make the very best “you” that you can, and I am sure that will be plenty good enough!
