Great photographers
I was first introduced to great photography by Tom Payne, a local photographer who left here for the big city but has now returned home to his roots. When I first saw Tom’s work, I was simply astounded that someone could take a picture and make it look like a beautiful painting. His work has graced the pages ranging from the Los Angeles Times to National Geographic Books.
Then I saw the beautiful work that my wonderful cousin Rick had done on his wonderful photography site www.TodaysPhoto.org. Who would have ever thought that little skinny kid I use to play with in the mountains when we were growing up would turn out to be such an amazing photographer and writer. His picture of Backbone Rock is the best one I have ever seen of it. The wonderful photographers that fill this web site are so amazing. The work they do is outstanding.
Just when I think I have seen the best of the best, I see the amazing work of Winston “Rocky” Rockwell. Have you seen what this man can do with a camera? I am convinced after seeing his wonderful pictures and commentaries on Rick’s web site, and his own web site www.northwestnaturalimagery.com, that history will bear out the fact that he is one of the best photographers of nature and natural landscapes of our time and will go down in history with the likes of Ansel Adams and Diane Arbus.
Thank you to all of you great photographers out there for sharing your gift and talent with us.
