Let us give thanks

Another Thanksgiving is here and I want to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with all of the wonderful things of the season. I hope your day is filled with love and true thanksgiving for all of the wonderful things in our lives.

Even with all of the problems we have, we still have  so much to be thankful for; and on this special day let us give thanks for those things that we do have and not think about those we don’t or those we wish we did. Let us just remember and think on those things the past year that has brought joy into our lives and made us better. And I am sure if we do that, the day will not be long enough to remember all of the wonderful things that this past year has brought our way.

Wishing you many more wonderful days to give thanks for.

Unseasonably warm weather-or God’s gift to po folk

We have been having some of the loveliest weather for November with temperatures reaching into the seventies. People have been running around in tee shirts and some even with shorts on.

I was discussing this unusual weather with a co-worker and she said she had no heat on and her windows up. She said that this was God’s gift to po folk. I had to laugh, but she sure had a point there. When every one else is trying to drain our pockets dry, it sure is nice to know that God can help us out a little by sending us extremely warm weather in an unexpected time.

I realize not every one is enjoying this type of weather, and to those of you that aren’t, I am sorry. But to those of  us that has, we just want to say, “Thanks God! We noticed!!”

Fall is fading

Fall is already fading here in the mountains of East Tennessee. The leaves are almost gone from the trees, and soon another Autumn will be a thing of the past.

As we welcome November, we have many things on our minds. The up-coming Holiday Season is almost on us. And a lot of people are struggling just to make ends meet, let alone think about all of the extra expenses of the Holiday Season. As we head into Thanksgiving, let us truly be thankful for all of those things that we do have. Health, life, friends, family, and the opportunity each day to wake up and make a difference. It is important to someone that you are here, and their lives would surely not be the same without you. God created each of us individually, and no one on this earth is quite like you. We all have our own special talents and abilities, and although some feel they don’t have much to offer, that is not true. Each person has something special to offer. God made you as a special individual, and it is up to each one of us to try to use our own special talents. Don’t waste your special gifts. Even if it is just trying to encourage someone Else’s special talents. We can’t all be “rock stars”; but wouldn’t the world be a boring place if we were? Instead we all have a marvelous opportunity to be uniquely different. I hope you will embrace all of God’s children and their differences.

Fall is fading, but we are not. Love to you all!!!
